Three of the world’s foremost experts in the art and science of Tuning Forks, Himalayan Singing Bowls, Crystal Singing Bowls and other instruments of sound will come together to demonstrate specific and detailed protocols for students to integrate healing sound within a private practice or within a group or yoga class setting.

This retreat is not restricted to professionals, and is appropriate for very beginner sound healers interested in starting their own private or group practice.

As WE LEARN BY REPETITION, we are dedicating each afternoon for practicing the protocols demonstrated in the morning and by the respected teacher.   Under the guidance of these remarkable sound healers, students will learn a Sound Healing Clinical format ready to use in their private practice with an individual, group setting or yoga class.  Participants will learn the therapeutic protocols and applications of the Tuning forks, Himalayan Singing Bowls and Crystal Singing Bowls and many other sound tools with the aim towards applying what they’ll learn and practice during the retreat to their clients, patients, friends and family to address a range of physical conditions, restore balance, and promote positive change at the cellular, mental and spiritual level.

(Friday October 12th ~ Monday October 15th, 2018)

DAVID PEREZ-MARTINEZ
The Integration of Therapeutic Sound with Mindfulness Meditation, Breathing and
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Our capacity for communication and social behavior is dependent on and made possible by neurological structures composed largely of cells that are designed to respond to sound at very specific frequencies.  Sound combined with breathing exercises is the quickest and most effective way to achieve relaxation and facilitate one's ability to enter a meditative state.  Medical research has demonstrated that sound meditation and relaxation have may beneficial effects on the brain and nervous system.

David Moises Perez is an Integrative Psychiatrist/Psychotherapist/Life Coach and Sound Healer currently in private practice in New York City since 1995. His work as a Sound Healer dates back to 1977 when he started a music therapy workshop that utilized the human voice as the primary therapeutic instrument for self-awareness, empowerment and healing. He will be sharing his experience with the integration of sound healing in his psychotherapy practice.
David is also part of the field of holistic health care as a mental health counselor in a pioneering comprehensive/holistic health care and social services agency in New York City that still exists today and has served as a model and incubator for similar agencies nationally and internationally. He was also a graduate student of Anthropology at the New School for Social Research where he was drawn to the work of Dr. Michael Harner in Shamanism. He received theoretical and experiential training on the practice of Shamanism and was invited by Dr. Harner to co-lead a graduate seminar on the subject.

JOSEPH SCHMIDLIN
The Integration of Therapeutic Sound utilizing tuning forks and the development of our Sound Body

Sound Healing with tuning forks utilizes the art and science of sonic ratios found in nature and the human body. Tuning forks offer a non-invasive method of healing and consciousness development. Tangible benefits include improved circulation and breathing, as well as reduced neuromuscular tension, joint pain and swelling to name a few. When property applied tunning forks stimulate the body’s self-healing capacity, distributing essential neurochemicals and thus resetting the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. On an energetic level, specific sound frequencies have the effect of cleansing, clearing, and balancing the body’s auric field. Clients often report an immediate brightening of mood and a lasting sense of heightened well-being.

Joseph Schmidlin, DO mtp, LMT has over 25 years of training, teaching & practice in the fields of energy medicine including Classical Osteopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Zero Balancing, Visceral manipulation, Craniosacral therapy, and Sonic vibrational therapeutics. He integrates these diverse healing modalities into his sound healing work. Known for his “healing touch”, his practice & teaching are grounded in the principle that each person, like the natural world, is a whole, self-correcting being with each part affecting every other as well as contributing to the integrity of the whole. for more details go to www.jschmidlin.com
