Beyond OM: The Role of Sound in Yoga and Movement

Full-day training with Joseph Schmidlin, DO, and Priscilla Auchincloss, Ph.D., RYT & Authorized Continuum Movement Teacher

Drawing from some of the earliest known practices, this workshop uses the medium of sound to connect primordial (unformed) consciousness to thought and language. Both ancient and modern modalities contribute to restoring and rebuilding, step-by-step, the human capacity of listening. You will gain direct experience in the sensory effects of vocalization and of specific instruments (such as drum, wooden flute, singing bowls, gong, and tuning forks) in the body-mind, and you will discover how to integrate the crucial role of sound to deepen practice in yoga, movement and life. Designed for yoga practitioners, this workshop training is also ideal for persons interested in meditation and other movement modalities.
